Whether it be the interior or exterior of your home a new coat of paint can make a big difference to the look and feel of your property. A tip we would suggest when updating the paintwork is to keep it neutral. Think tans, whites, beiges, and creams. Why you ask? Well, for a number of reasons. Neutral colours will make the interiors of your home appear more spacious and bright. Additionally, a neutral pallet will give your property a “blank canvas” for prospective buyers to work on.
Remove the Clutter
There is a reason show homes generally have a minimalistic look and feel, and this is because it tends to appeal to the masses. Therefore, we would highly recommend when curating a property for sale to always follow the ‘less is more’ rule when styling. That being the case, it might be time to relook your interiors to see how you can declutter. Over the years you may have accumulated an extra couch or two (we’ve all been there) but if it’s not needed, it’s time for them to go.
Extra Tip: To achieve the minimalist look without the heartache of throwing your much-loved pieces it may be worthwhile investing in renting a storage unit whilst your property is on the market.
It’s time to Fix It
Perhaps it’s a little sneaky cracked tile in the bathroom or a broken garden chair. We all have them, the “oh I’ll fix that later” jobs. Well, we’re sorry to say the time has actually come to get that job done (sorry all procrastinators). Although small, they can make a big impact when prospective buyers are inspecting your property. Make a list and tick them off as you go.
Replace Old Fixtures and Fittings
You don’t have to update all of the interiors in your home to give your property an effective makeover. Something as small and cost-effective as updating your home’s fixtures and fittings can instantly modernise your spaces.

- Bathroom cabinets

Once the interior has been refined, it’s time to clean. And not just a little sweep and polish, no, it’s time for a deep, deep clean. You’ve finished prepping your interior (congratulations), now there’s only one thing left to address. That is, of course, your home’s exterior. The exterior will create the first impression of your property so it’s imperative to make it a good one.

- Basic gardening (where applicable) such as cutting the lawn, weeding and updating plants
